My Story

Portland Or doula - Placenta Pills Portland

My passion with birth work began at the young age of 10, after witnessing the birth of my sister. A personal interest, fascination and miraculous wonder in pregnancy, childbirth and babies began at that very moment.  After helping friends during their labors, I realized being a doula was a calling and I felt a strong intuition in aiding moms in the labor process.  I personally have had 3, beautiful births. Being in harmony with my mind and the steps my body was making through each labor stage was extremely helpful.

I’m so glad I found Kimberly to act as a doula for me, a first time mom. She went above and beyond the call of duty with her commitment and compassion. My family and I were all impressed by her stamina and engagement as she talked me through contractions, massaged my lower back, helped me into different positions, fed me ice chips, and gave me support throughout my childbirth process. We would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a doula who will add knowledge and loving assistance to their unique story of bringing a child into the world.

My Philosophy

The experience of birth and postpartum is a normal, natural process that a woman’s body is designed to experience. A main focus of mine is to assist women with being in tune with the changing hormonal effects in her body. My philosophy is to offer a non-judgmental, holistic, intuitive, nurturing and a simplistic approach to pregnancy, birth and transitioning at home.

My goal is to educate along with giving safe, supportive care to every family. My hope is that women feel empowered by their birth experience, no matter what path is taken. Birth, to me, does not stop after delivery. I am committed to providing continuous care with compassion, humility and empathy. It is an honor to hold a space in your birth experience.

The minute I met Kimberly I knew that she was the Doula for our birth. Her gentle spirit had instantly given me the support and courage I needed to ensure a successful water birth. When times got tough and I doubted myself she was there to give me a gentle reminder to allow my body to do what it designed to do and I was strong enough to do this. There is no doubt in my mind I couldn’t have done it without her. She will always be a special part in our birthing story.
